Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
Jibi is an expense tracker made for Algeria, available at jibidz.com and as an Android app. This page explains what data Jibi collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect what the app needs to work, we never sell it, and you can delete it yourself at any time.
What we collect
- Your account: first and last name, email address, phone number and, if you add it, your wilaya. Your password is stored encrypted (hashed): nobody at Jibi can read it. If you continue with Google, Google sends us your name and email address (never your Google password).
- What you record in the app: expenses and income, wallet balances (and your bank’s name if you add it), budgets, savings goals, monthly entries, your own categories, debts and installments (including the names you give the people involved), and foreign-currency wallets with the rates you set.
- Your settings: language, theme and notification choices.
- Technical data: when you use Jibi, our servers record your IP address, the time and your browser or device type. We use it to keep the service secure and to fix problems.
What we don’t collect
- Jibi never asks for your bank login, card numbers or PIN codes, and has no access to your bank accounts. Amounts are what you type yourself.
- The Android app only asks for internet access, and to use the Google accounts already on your phone if you choose Continue with Google: no location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- There are no advertising or analytics trackers in the app or on this website.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your balances, budgets, goals, debts and statistics, and keep them in sync between your devices.
- To send you emails: confirming your email address, resetting your password and confirming a deleted account. Budget alerts and the weekly summary are sent only if they are on; you can turn them off in Settings or with the link in each email.
- To answer you when you contact us, and to protect the service against abuse.
- We don’t sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it to show you ads.
Who can see it
- You, when you’re signed in.
- A small number of Jibi staff, through an administration panel, only to run the service and help you when you ask for support.
- The servers that host Jibi and its own mail server, which store and send the data on our behalf.
- Google Fonts: this website and the app load their fonts from Google, which receives your IP address when they load (see Google’s privacy policy). Exchange rates are fetched by our servers from public sources: no data about you is sent to them.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Your data is kept as long as your account exists.
- In the app, Settings, Security: “Reset my data” deletes everything you recorded but keeps your account; “Delete my account” deletes the account and everything in it.
- Server logs (IP address, time) are kept for a limited time, for security.
Your rights
Under Algerian Law 18-07 on the protection of personal data, you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, or object to how it’s used. You can do most of this yourself in the app (profile, settings, reset, account deletion). For anything else, write to contact@jibidz.com and we’ll answer as soon as we can.
Security
Everything between your device and Jibi travels encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, and access to the servers and the administration panel is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly safe: use a password you don’t use elsewhere.
Children
Jibi is meant for people managing their own money and isn’t aimed at children. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. For important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they apply.
